Byredo was founded in Stockholm in 2006 by Ben Gorham. Gorham, the son of an Indian mother and a Canadian father, grew up between different cultures – an experience that continues to shape his creative vision. Together with renowned perfumer Jérôme Epinette, Gorham developed a olfactory language that captures memories, emotions, and journeys in bottles. The name "Byredo" is derived from the English phrase "by redolence" – "through scent".
